Mission Dolores Park is one of the most popular parks in San Francisco with a local Mission District feeling. It encompasses nearly 16 acres area. There are lush green lawns shaded by tall palm trees, a soccer field, six tennis courts, one basketball court, a playground, a dog play area, and a clubhouse with recreational facilities and public.
Many festivals, performances, and other cultural events are held here. On sunny afternoons people flock to the park to play, picnic, lounge, walk their dogs and enjoy spectacular views of the city’s skyline and beyond.
The park is divided into two halves by a paved walkway and the restrooms. The northern portion tends to attract more crowds providing them the sloped section facing Dolores Street; popularly known as “hipster beach.” The southern end makes for a prime barbecue spot, and has plenty of space for your frisbee-chasing dog.
