"Good Value!" 4/5

USA

"Great value for S. F. Location very near Union Square and Downtown - unfortunately these destinations boarder a very seedy neighborhood, but that's life in the big city sometimes. Room was a little cramped - King bed in room built for a twin, but what the heck. Had a window that actually opened, which was a bonus. Room and bathroom were clean. Staff was very courteous. Construction going on inside hotel and a lot of workers around moving new furniture in, etc., so they're doing some upgrades, so can't complain. Breakfast?... Not really, don't expect much (coffee, OJ, banana and toast, that's it). It ain't the Ritz, that's for sure, but it's a good bargain if you are staying in the area. "

No AC in rooms and fans turned off if you didn't continue to walk by them. No fridge in rooms Continental breakfast was a joke! Toast or cheap waffles... Would've loved muffins or Danishes... Overnight parking should be slightly cheaper or have taxes i

"San Francisco visit" 4/5

USA

"We stayed in San Francisco for two days. We chose this hotel because it offered a suite at a reasonable price. Travelling with two teenage girls, we felt a suite would be a better idea for some privacy. The hotel is in an older building which has been recently renovated. The room was clean, a little small but therefore quiet since we were on the sixth floor, not facing the street. There bathroom was recently retiled and new looking. Only odd thing was the toilet seat looked like an original part of the hotel- showed lots of wear and tear. Hotel offered a nice, basic breakfast in the price. Being by Union Square, there was lots of access to mass transit and cable cars (which are expensive and used only by tourists). Hotel offered free internet (important for my teens). The only negative about the hotel is that they did not have on site parking. There is a parking garage two doors up where the car can be safely left, but it cost me 30 dollars a night. While checking on hotels in San Fran, this appears to be a general problem. I would probably stay here again."

Comfortable, No Frills

Pros

Price was reasonable for a suite if you do not have problems with staying in an older building. Breakfast was included. A ten minute walk to Chinatown for a good dinner.

Cons

Parking expensive.

"Convenient Budget Hotel Close to Everything." 4/5

"For the price and location this is a good hotel to stay at if you want to be close to most things at a very reasonable price. It is basically a no-frills type hotel. If you want the high end experience this is not your hotel. However, if you're the type that the room is secondary and being in the flow of things is primary, then this is your hotel. The room was basic and clean and had a bathroom in the room, which a lot of San Francisco budget hotels don't. The room had a telephone, flat screen with basic dish network, a room safe and a big Jacuzzi tub and shower. It also had an iron and board and a hair dryer. I probably would stay there again since I would rather spend my money on fun not on a hotel room. Please keep in mind that this hotel is in the city center so you will experience some noise from the street, but it was not overly disruptive."

No Frills

Special Tip

I stayed in a room with a king bed and it did not have a fridge, so don't plan on bringing any items that need refrigeration.

Pros

Within walking distance to Chinatown, Financial District, Civic Center, North Beach/Italian, all the premium shopping stores and a short walk to the Bart and Muni rail systems. Lots of different types of eateries within a few blocks including some 24hr on

Cons

Small rooms, lack of Air Conditioning(only a problem if your room faces the sun since the curtains are thin) and the bed was not too comfortable, but I've slept on worse in some budget hotels. Jacuzzi tub did not work(after all the walking I was really so
