Civic Center

The Civic Center was built after the 1906 earthquake to house the City Hall and Hall of Records. The center was to be San Francisco’s proud centerpiece to its newly rebuilt city. In the recent times, the building is now surrounded by elegant government buildings, thus the Civic Center has been the home to many different rallies including anti-war protests. The center has also become the home to the St. Patrick’s Day parade, the Gay Pride Festival, and the Love Parade.
