Museum of Modern Art
This Museum of Art is the first museum on the west coast to develop a nationally recognized 20th century art collection. Founded in 1935 by Grace L. McCann Morley and since then has collected over 26,000 works of painting, sculpture, photography, and even architecture. This museum contains works from artists like Ansel Adams to Andy Warhol. Also quite the trend setter, SFMOMA was the first to recognize photography as a fine art. The art gallery at Fort Mason is directed by the same director and curator as SFMOMA.
